Bengaluru FC produced a clinical performance to beat Jamshedpur FC 2-0 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Thursday. The Blues took the lead through Erik Paartalu in the first half and doubled it when Sunil Chhetri rounded Subrata Paul to score in the second half. The win takes the defending Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) champions to within two points of top spot, which has been their primary target since the start of the season.

At the post-match press conference, Bengaluru FC coach Javier Pinillos shared his delight having secured another important three points. He said, “Another match, another assist for Dimas (Delgado). He had a very good match in both attack and defence.”

Pinillos also lauded the reaction of his players in their last few matches, stating, “We have to single out the reaction of the guys. Usually, when you lose two matches, it’s difficult to win and to know how the team is going to react. But the reaction has been really good. We are trying to keep fighting and get into the top four and qualify for the AFC Champions League.”

Praising the performance of Hero of the Match, Ashique Kuruniyan, he commented, “He has very good quality and characteristics. He has been improving since signing for us. He has to keep on continue playing like this.”

On the performance of their captain, Chhetri, Pinillos added, “He helps us wherever he plays. He can play on the right or left. He helps us win a lot of balls in defence. He helps us with the physicality in the defence.”
