Still unbeaten in Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20, NorthEast United FC will aim to keep the run going when they face Jamshedpur FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur on Monday. The Highlanders are yet to win against Jamshedpur in the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL), having drawn three and lost one match against them.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, NorthEast head coach Robert Jarni said, “We always come to any match to win. This is a team which has a very good balance between defence and attack. For me, they are the best team in India at the moment. I know it is a difficult match for us, but we will prepare to the best of our abilities and try to win.”

Addressing NorthEast United’s unbeaten run, the head coach said, “It’s still difficult to say what will happen in the future but we will give our everything. It’s impossible to win all the games but we will give our best.”

Analysing their Monday’s opponents, the Croatian noted, “I cannot really see any weak point really. They are a very good team. Antonio (Iriondo) is doing a very good job. I have seen three or four matches of Jamshedpur, and like I said, it’s the best team in the Hero ISL.”

The 51-year old head coach was joined by Panagiotis Triadis. Asked about his Hero ISL experience, the winger said, “It’s a very different league. I’ve been playing in Europe all my life, same as the coach. It’s difficult to compare it to Europe but speaking about the general infrastructure and professionalism I have nothing to complain about. The stadiums and the fans are brilliant. I think they are doing a great job. Of course, they can improve a few things, but it has only been six seasons, so they still have a lot of time.”

Triadis, who opened the scoring against Mumbai City FC in the last game, was impressed with the quality of the Indian players. “It’s important to find a good balance between the Indian and the foreign players. There are a lot of good Indian players. The foreign players try to integrate them and try to help them as much as they can. I think we can help them improve,” he said.
