Jamshedpur FC will take on East Bengal FC in matchweek 8 of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-23 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, in Jamshedpur, on Sunday looking to end their three-match losing streak.

East Bengal FC too are coming into the game on the back of a defeat having suffered a 2-4 reverse against Odisha FC in the last match at home.

The two teams are separated by just two points in the standings and have secured just three wins all season among themselves. The Red and Gold brigade have a decent away record with both their wins so far this season coming on the road. Jamshedpur FC though will be banking on their excellent home support to push them towards their second win of the season.

As we close in on the match, here is the injury status of the two teams.

Team news and injury updates

Jamshedpur FC: The Red Miners have struggled with injuries this season and have missed key players all season long. There is good news for the hosts though as Daniel Chima Chukwu is set to be fit for the game against East Bengal FC but long-term absentees continue to nurse their injuries.

“Daniel Chima Chukwu will be in the squad for the East Bengal FC match. Eli Sabia is 2-3 weeks away, and Wellington (Priori) is 4-6 weeks away. Laldinpuia Pachau is four weeks away. So we have got a few injuries that we have to ride out. Hopefully, due to the work that we do off the pitch, we can get the players fit quicker,” Jamshedpur FC head coach Aidy Boothroyd said before the match.

East Bengal FC: Stephen Constantine kept everyone guessing with his injury updates but the red and golds will see at least one player return for the game against Jamshedpur FC.

“I think Jerry (Lalrinzuala) would be okay. For (Charis) Kyriakou, we will have to wait and see. Obviously we know he had the stitches removed on Friday. He had a serious injury to his cheekbones. So we have the protective high cover, but we have to see how it feels, obviously. Because it's quite a delicate situation, so we will decide last minute with him.

Yeah, there are always injury concerns. Yeah, we had one or two players that will not play. We have one or two that might play,” said Constantine in his pre-match press conference.
