Jamshedpur FC take on Mohun Bagan Super Giant
Jamshedpur FC return to the Furnace aiming to secure a victory in front of their home supporters. The Men of Steel are coming off a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Sporting Club Delhi, where an 89th-minute equalizer from Nikola Stojanović rescued a point, keeping them third in the standings with 13 points. The hosts will rely on their home record and physicality to unsettle the visitors.
Meanwhile, Mohun Bagan Super Giant arrive looking to bounce back, recently suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Mumbai City FC, a result that ended their unbeaten run and saw them drop points, leaving them in second place, tied on 13 points with Jamshedpur.
In their 12 previous ISL meetings, Mohun Bagan Super Giant hold a slight edge with six victories compared to Jamshedpur FC's four, alongside two draws.
The Mariners have also outscored Jamshedpur 17 to 10 in these encounters. In their most recent clash in April 2025, Mohun Bagan secured a 2-0 victory over Jamshedpur FC at the VYBK.

Speaking ahead of the home fixture, Jamshedpur FC head coach Owen Coyle said, “Playing at the Furnace always gives us an advantage because of our supporters. Mohun Bagan is a strong side with quality players, but our focus is on maintaining discipline and executing our strategy. We must be compact and clinical in the final third.”
Jamshedpur FC forward Seiminlen Doungel echoed the coach's sentiments. “We have prepared well during the week. The team is motivated, and we want to secure a positive result at home,” he stated. “It will be a physical battle, but we are ready to fight for every ball.”
For Mohun Bagan SG, the objective is to deliver a strong response following their recent defeat. Head coach Sergio Lobera emphasized the importance of a swift recovery.
“When you don’t get the results you want, you want to play immediately to recover good feelings,” Lobera explained. “The last match was disappointing because we missed a chance to create a gap at the top. It’s my responsibility to correct mistakes.”

Acknowledging the high stakes, the Spanish tactician embraced the weight of expectations that come with the badge. “This is a winning club with high demands. When you join Mohun Bagan, finishing second isn’t enough. We need to win trophies,” he stated. “Pressure is good — it means you’re competing for big targets.”
Echoing his coach's resilient mindset, forward Liston Colaco highlighted the squad's determination to move past their recent stumble. “I never lose confidence. I focus on staying sharp and forgetting past games,” Colaco noted. “I’m looking forward to performing well again.”
Mohun Bagan SG have played highly entertaining football under Sergio Lobera, and the Spanish tactician is fully aware of the challenge ahead. “Jamshedpur are always difficult opponents at their home ground. We have studied their style carefully and will prepare accordingly,” Lobera said. “Every away game is a challenge, but our objective remains to dictate the play and take all three points.”
Three points will be crucial for either sides as the winners will have a chance to take the sole lead in the table.
FC Goa, Bengaluru FC tussle to remain in top four

FC Goa will hope to dictate proceedings with their possession-based football in their home turf against Bengaluru. Having salvaged a 1-1 draw against Chennaiyin FC in their last outing through an 87th-minute header from captain Sandesh Jhingan, the Gaurs remain unbeaten with 10 points but are looking to sharpen their execution in the attacking third.
This fixture consistently delivers high-intensity football, adding another chapter to one of the league's most celebrated rivalries. In their 19 previous ISL encounters, Bengaluru FC hold the upper hand with eight wins to FC Goa's six, with five matches ending in a draw. The Blues have also edged the goal-scoring tally, netting 30 times against Goa's 24. However, it was FC Goa who emerged victorious in their most recent meeting, claiming a 2-1 win at Margao in April 2025.
Speaking ahead of the match, FC Goa head coach Manolo Márquez acknowledged his team's recent struggles in front of goal despite creating ample opportunities. "We are having problems to finish the action because if you see Chennai, we had more options than the opponent... East Bengal playing a good game, we had more options than East Bengal," Marquez explained. "We have problems to finish the actions and this is the reality."

Despite fielding fewer foreign players recently, Marquez strongly defended the quality of his domestic contingent. "When I say this about only two foreigners, I read that people are thinking that we don't have good Indian players. The message is completely the opposite. The message is we have very good players... very disciplined with a very good attitude, and the two foreigners that we have, they are helping a lot."
Acknowledging the magnitude of Saturday's opponent, Marquez added, "We are speaking about a top team. One of the favorites to arrive to the Champions League. For me BFC is one of the, and maybe Mumbai, and maybe East Bengal who can arrive to Asian competition next season."
FC Goa midfielder Harsh Patre highlighted the importance of the home support at Fatorda. "When there is much of a crowd, you enjoy. There is a lot of energy. Of course, you enjoy a lot," Patre noted. "But in return, we have to perform well and give good football."

Bengaluru FC, led by first team coach Renedy Singh, are preparing for a stern test against a defensively sound Goa side. The Blues are coming off a convincing 3-1 away victory over Inter Kashi, powered by a second-half brace from Braian Sánchez and an early strike from Ashique Kuruniyan, taking them to 11 points.
Addressing the upcoming challenge, Renedy stated, "They have a very good coach, Manolo, and they are strong both in attack and defence. They haven’t conceded much. We must stay compact while attacking and defending."
Renedy also emphasized his reliance on the team's emerging talent in high-stakes encounters. "We’ve played crucial games before as well, and young players like Soham, Ricky, Vinit and Suvaldo have done well. Whenever Soham came in, he performed," Singh explained. "We need a balance between experience and youth. Young players bring creativity, and I believe in them to make an impact."

One of those young talents, Soham Varshneya, remains unfazed by the occasion. "There is some pressure, but once I step onto the field, I focus only on the game," Varshneya shared. "It becomes a 'zen mode' where I control what I can."
FC Goa will look to orchestrate the match from the midfield and find their finishing touch, whereas Bengaluru FC will rely on their structural discipline and a blend of youth and experience in what promises to be a competitive encounter.
With the battle for the top spot unfolding in Jamshedpur and a scramble for top-four positioning in Goa, Saturday's doubleheader is set to shape the top half of the ISL standings as the business end of the tournament intensifies.
