Jamshedpur FC head coach Khalid Jamil shared his delight after securing a stunning 3-1 victory against in-form FC Goa in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur on Sunday.

The Men of Steel raced to a quick two-goal lead within three minutes thanks to Lazar Cirkovic and Javier Siverio’s goals in the first half. Cirkovic, the Serbian defender opened the scoring with a jaw-dropping strike from the edge of the box that found the top right corner, giving no chance to FC Goa keeper Hrithik Tiwari. Three minutes later, Tiwari could not collect Mohammed Sanan’s powerful attempt from close range that fell to Siverio, and the Spanish forward made no mistake.

Despite Ayush Chhetri pulling one goal back for the Gaurs with his precise curling strike at the stroke of half-time, Siverio restored Jamshedpur FC’s two-goal lead with his headed strike in the 68th minute to register his third brace in the ISL. With that, the Spaniard has now scored four goals against FC Goa in the ISL, his highest tally against any team in league history.

Following this clinical victory at the Furnace, the Men of Steel not only stretched their unbeaten home run to six games but also put an end to the Gaurs unbeaten run of 12 games.

The Jamshedpur FC head coach urged the team them to carry forward the positive momentum with the team set to face Bengaluru FC in an away fixture on February 9. The Men of Steel moved up to second following this result and are nine points behind Mohun Bagan SG with a game in hand.

“Yes, team spirit was good. We must continue like this,” Jamil stated.

“We are going to play an away game. So, we must keep it up, and we must think about the next game,” he continued.

Jamshedpur FC's supporters were present in huge numbers at the Furnace, cheering for the home side throughout the entire game with their passionate chants and unwavering spirit.
