The deadline for Matchweek 2 of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 Fantasy closes at 6:00 PM this Thursday, just ahead of the opening match between Bengaluru FC and Hyderabad FC.

After a promising start in Matchweek 1, where popular players like Armando Sadiku, Tiri, Rahul Bheke, and Hugo Boumous delivered strong returns, managers must tread carefully this Matchweek, especially with Chennaiyin FC set to blank.

We’ve put together our top eleven for this Matchweek, heavily featuring Bengaluru FC players as they face last season’s bottom finishers, Hyderabad FC, who will be kicking off their campaign.

To assist managers in their selections, we've carefully assembled the strongest starting eleven Matchweek 2 featuring a 3-4-3 formation.

Goalkeepers

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu (5.6 CR)

Sandhu's price has increased following his clean sheet against East Bengal FC. The India international will be looking to replicate that success as the Blues face a Hyderabad FC team that hasn't had a proper pre-season and may struggle in their opening match.

Albino Gomes (4.5 CR) (Substitute)

Gomes is an excellent budget choice in the 4.5 CR category, and he showcased his value in Matchweek 1. Although he conceded a soft goal against FC Goa, he stood out as one of the team’s top performers, making four vital saves during the match.

Defenders

Aakash Sangwan (5.0 CR)

Sangwan made his debut for FC Goa in their loss to Jamshedpur FC. Although he didn’t keep a clean sheet, the full-back got into some promising positions and posed a significant threat going forward, indicating his potential for attacking returns. At his price, he appears to be the most affordable option to access the FC Goa defence.

Tiri (5.6 CR)

Another player whose price has increased after Matchweek 1, Tiri will be looking to build on his performance against Mohun Bagan Super Giant. With his goal-scoring threat, strong passing, and solid defensive skills, he is one of the top defenders in the league.

Roshan Singh (5.0 CR) - Vice captain

The full-back had a strong showing in Bengaluru FC’s victory over East Bengal FC, securing a clean sheet. As one of the team's set-piece takers, he has the potential to contribute not only defensively but also to help you accumulate attacking points. He could be bold captaincy choice if you are willing to take a risk.

Mourtada Fall (6.0 CR) (Substitute)

Fall didn't start Odisha FC’s opening match against Chennaiyin FC but came on for the injured Carlos Delgado in the first half. Expected to start against Punjab FC, his attacking threat could earn you valuable points. No defender in the league has scored more goals than the Senegalese centre-back.

Alexander Coeff (5.5 CR) (Substitute)

Defender Coeff played in midfield during Kerala Blasters FC’s loss to Punjab FC and is likely to take on a similar role against East Bengal FC, which bodes well for his owners. His ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch makes him a strong prospect for accumulating points.

Midfielders

Greg Stewart (10 CR)

Stewart had an impressive ISL debut for Mohun Bagan SG, registering an assist. With his goal-scoring and playmaking abilities, he’s a strong option moving forward. He’s expected to retain his spot in the starting eleven, especially after being benched for their recent AFC Champions League match.

Hugo Boumous (8.5 CR)

Boumous was the second-highest scoring midfielder in Matchweek 1, earning double digits with two assists. He showcased his dynamism in midfield and consistently posed a threat in the opposition box, and will be expected to deliver a similar performance this week.

Alexis Gomez (6.5 CR)

Gomez faces a challenging fixture on paper, but FC Goa’s defensive struggles in their opening match suggest that Mohammedan Sporting Club could exploit weaknesses. The Argentinian is the linchpin for the Kolkata team, capable of earning points through both his attacking and defensive contributions, having already scored six points in Matchweek 1.

Jithin MS (7.0 CR)

Jithin MS is one of the most popular midfield selections in the game, facing a challenging fixture on paper. However, NorthEast United FC have proven they can compete with the Mariners, having beaten them in the Durand Cup final. As one of the influential players in their midfield, Jithin MS could be involved in their attacking efforts if NorthEast United FC find the back of the net.

Freddy Lallawmawma (4.5 CR) (Substitute)

Lallawmawma is a budget-friendly bench option who performed well in Matchweek 1. As one of the few players in his price category to start, he’s expected to retain his spot in the lineup against East Bengal FC.

Forwards

Jesus Jimenez (8.5 CR)

Jimenez made an immediate impact by coming off the bench to score in Kerala Blasters FC’s opening game against Punjab FC. He could be given a starting role against East Bengal FC and will be confident in his ability to find the net again.

Edgar Mendez (8.5 CR)

Playing upfront, Mendez assisted Vinith Venkatesh’s winner against East Bengal FC before being substituted for Jorge Diaz. Despite the competition for his spot, the Spaniard has one of the easier fixtures on paper and has the potential to deliver significant returns.

Armando Sadiku (8.6 CR) - Captain

As the most-owned player in the game, Sadiku has seen his price increase following his goal on debut for FC Goa against Jamshedpur FC. He will once again be the focal point of their attack as they face newcomers Mohammedan SC.

Given his impressive track record in the league and the favourable fixture, he is set to don the captain's armband once again.
