Matchweek 4 of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 season featured just four matches, but it was packed with excitement as all the games were highly competitive.

FC Goa and Chennaiyin FC managed to secure victories on the road but did so after hard-fought battles. As the ISL resumed after the international break, several players made significant contributions to their teams' results, some maintaining their good form and others stepping up to steal the spotlight.

Here's a look at the best eleven players from Matchweek 4.

Goalkeeper

Ravi Kumar

In only his second start of the season, Kumar displayed excellent goalkeeping skills against Jamshedpur FC. He made a series of crucial saves that kept his team in the game and helped them secure a clean sheet in a challenging away fixture.

Defenders

Nikhil Poojary

Despite being part of a losing team in Matchweek 4, Poojary had a commendable performance. He not only thwarted Chennaiyin FC's attacks but also actively contributed to Hyderabad FC's offensive moves, showcasing his versatility.

Michel Zabaco

As the captain of NorthEast United FC, Zabaco led by example in the game against Kerala Blasters FC. He played a key role in nullifying the threats posed by the likes of Kwame Peprah and Dimitri Diamantakos, earning himself the Player of the Match award.

Sandesh Jhingan

Jhingan scored his first ISL goal, a crucial header that came when FC Goa was trailing against East Bengal FC. His late goal ignited a remarkable comeback win for the Gaurs in Bhubaneswar.

Midfielders

Amarjit Singh Kiyam

Punjab FC's clean sheet against Jamshedpur FC owed much to Kiyam's mature midfield performance. Playing against his former team, he adeptly disrupted attacks and won possession for his side.

Danish Farooq

Farooq continued his impressive form, scoring his second goal of the season in back-to-back games. He displayed intent in attacking from midfield and established a promising partnership with his teammates.

Rei Tachikawa

Despite Jamshedpur FC's inability to secure a victory against Punjab FC, Tachikawa played a crucial role whenever they threatened the opposition. His all-round performance in midfield made a significant impact.

Victor Rodriguez

Rodriguez stepped up when called upon to replace the injured Noah Sadaoui in the match against East Bengal FC. He not only set up Jhingan's equaliser but also scored the winning goal, earning the Player of the Match award for his outstanding performance.

Adrian Luna

Captain Luna, a key figure for Kerala Blasters FC, continued to shine. He was at the heart of the team's creative efforts and provided consistent service to the forwards, even assisting Farooq's equalising goal.

Forwards

Connor Shields

Shields opened his scoring account for the season with a well-taken goal that set the tone for Chennaiyin FC early in the match. He was a constant threat to Hyderabad FC whenever his team surged forward.

Nestor Albiach

Similar to Shields, Albiach scored his first goal of the season in style, manoeuvring past a couple of defenders before a precise finish. His link-up play and off-the-ball movements caused problems for Kerala Blasters FC.
