Gameweek 19 of the Hero I-League saw Bengaluru FC climb to first spot on the table with a gap of three points separating them from second placed Mohun Bagan. Mohun Bagan slumped to 2-1 loss at the hands of Sporting Clube de Goa as Bengaluru took advantage of their slip-up. Hero I-League debutants Royal Wahingdoh remain third, two points behind the Mariners.

East Bengal hosted Pune FC at the Barasat District Sports Stadium with Dudu Omagbemi (FC Pune City) opening the scoring. Mehtab Hossain (Kerala Blasters FC) played the Nigerian on with a wonderful through ball, and Dudu finished with a top-corner finish. Pune FC equalised moments after restart as Ryuji Sueoka sent in a cross at the far post as Ishfaq Ahmed headed it into the far corner. Pune FC scored through Thongkhosiem Haokip in the 65th minute to win the game.
