India to play tri-nation tournament involving Vietnam and Lebanon in October
The Blue Tigers aim to make a fresh start from this tournament following their disappointing performance in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers
The Indian men’s national football team is all set to participate in a tri-nation friendly tournament during the FIFA window in October. The Blue Tigers will be joined by hosts Vietnam and familiar foes Lebanon as they look to start afresh under a new head coach.
India parted ways with Croatian coach Igor Stimac after the side failed to secure a spot in the third round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, despite a bright start in the second round.
They will now be keen to perform well in this tri-nation tournament and prepare themselves strongly ahead of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers third round, slated to start in March 2025.
