The Indian men’s national football team is all set to participate in a tri-nation friendly tournament during the FIFA window in October. The Blue Tigers will be joined by hosts Vietnam and familiar foes Lebanon as they look to start afresh under a new head coach.

India parted ways with Croatian coach Igor Stimac after the side failed to secure a spot in the third round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, despite a bright start in the second round.

They will now be keen to perform well in this tri-nation tournament and prepare themselves strongly ahead of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers third round, slated to start in March 2025.

India will take on hosts Vietnam on October 9 before facing Lebanon on October 12. Vietnam will play Lebanon in the final fixture on October 15.

The Blue Tigers have fallen to 124th in the latest FIFA Rankings, reflecting their recent disappointing performances. Both Vietnam (116th) and Lebanon (117th) are currently ranked higher than India.
