In every game, we only play well for 45 minutes: FC Goa’s Manolo Marquez
The 56-year-old highlighted the fact that his team haven’t been playing well for the full duration of the match and they can’t expect to win matches if they continue to be inconsistent.

FC Goa head coach Manolo Marquez was unimpressed with his team’s inconsistency in the 1-2 loss against Mumbai City FC on Saturday but retained belief that his team would have a good season.
The Gaurs went down to the Islanders who were given a two-goal headway in the first half thanks to goals from Nikos Karelis and Yoell van Nieff which proved to be enough to secure the points despite Armando Sadiku pulling a goal back from the penalty spot.
Match Report: FC Goa 1-2 Mumbai City FC
The Spaniard was furious with his team’s first half display and wasn’t surprised by the fact that Mumbai City FC made them pay the price for it.
“If I am a person coming to watch this game and I see that first half, I am never coming back in my life again,” Marquez said during the post-match press conference.
“At least in the second half, we showed attitude and commitment. But we can't say anything as we can't afford to perform like we did in the first half against a team like Mumbai City FC,” he added.

The 56-year-old highlighted the fact that his team haven’t been playing well for the full duration of the match and they can’t expect to win matches if they continue to be inconsistent.
“In every game, we are playing (well) for 45 minutes. It was obvious that we were not good in the first half. In the second half, I felt we deserved the equaliser. We played with a good conviction that we could do it. In the first half, we made two big mistakes. In the end, Mumbai City FC scored two goals and we scored one goal and they won the game,” he said.
“We are not consistent. When a team concedes two goals every game, it's impossible to have a good season. We need to improve as a team in the defensive aspect. The teams that are at the top right now have conceded the fewest goals,” he added.
However, the Spaniard believes his team can turn things around with key players returning to full fitness.
“We know we can play football and score goals. The lack of character in our team is very clear. With Sandesh Jhingan and Iker Guarrotxena back, the team will improve in this aspect and the team will grow and we will have a good season. I believe the team will react and react very soon,” he concluded.
