Hyderabad FC players were fresher, faster and worked harder: Andrey Chernyshov
The Russian head coach lamented the mistakes made by his team that resulted in a heavy defeat for his side.

Mohammedan Sporting Club head coach Andrey Chernyshov expressed his disappointment and need to study the match as to not further repeat the same mistakes, following a heavy 0-4 defeat to Hyderabad FC in an Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 clash in Kolkata on Saturday.
A brace from newcomer Allan Paulista and a goal each from Stefan Sapic and Parah Shrivas handed the visitors their first victory of the season at the expense of the Kolkata side who only have one win in six ISL matches this season.
Match Report: Mohammedan SC 0-4 Hyderabad FC
Chernyshov acknowledged that the team did not perform as expected, in the post-match press conference saying “We played today not like we planned before the match and if you start to look again (at) this match..the (players) look like they are a little bit tired”
He also acknowledged that the opponent players were in better form today, “The players from the Hyderabad FC were fresher, they ran better, were faster and worked faster with the balls. Our performance was not as good as we expected before the match.”
Chernyshov pointed to several early mistakes that derailed their game plan to score a win again in this ISL season. "After 15 minutes, we were down 0-3 because of our mistakes.”
Though Mohammedan SC created chances, they were unable to capitalise, despite the changes made to the team during half-time. “After the first half, we wanted to come back, we spoke well in the dressing room, we changed some players, we brought more players in attack but again they scored. We also had so many chances today but we could not score,” he said
When questioned about whether the absence of Joseph Adjei had an impact on the team he said, “The mistake at the first minute broke all our plans and we continued to make many simple mistakes.
“We started to become more nervous, the second and third goals brought us down. But, this is not about Joseph not playing today, we need to think about us (as) the team. We won like the team, we lost like the team, We need to think further about our mistakes.”

Chernyshov also admitted it is hard to find positives today and expressed the need for rest and reflection before their next match as Mohammedan SC dropped to 12th position in the ISL standings. “People expected us to play and win the matches but sometimes it is very difficult to find positive things from a match when you lose 4-0,” he said.
“We also had chances but we could not score...sometimes we are unlucky and sometimes we are not good..after a loss like this you cannot say it’s good; all things were not good today but we need to analyse that and continue to work well”
Mohammedan SC will hope to regroup and deliver a stronger performance in their next ISL fixture against Kolkata rivals East Bengal on November 9.
