Winner of Hero Indian Super League 2016 with Atlético de Kolkata, Canadian striker Iain Hume has joined Spanish outfit Extremadura Unión Deportiva for the remainder of the Segunda Division B season. The 33-year-old striker, who has appeared in all three seasons of the Hero ISL, confirmed the news through his instagram account over the weekend.The Canadian striker played a huge role in ATK becoming champions last season with crucial goals for his side. Hume, who scored seven goals for Kolkata in 2016, is Hero ISL’s all-time leading scorer with 23 goals over the course of three seasons. Hume also won the Hero-of-the-League award in the inaugural season in Kerala Blasters FC colours.His best season in terms of goals came in Hero ISL 2015 when he scored 11 times to end the season as Kolkata’s top-scorer. He also netted two hat-tricks that year against Mumbai City FC and FC Pune City. Hume’s move to Extremadura Unión Deportiva will see him join forces with Kerala Blasters FC’s Josu Currais and Delhi Dynamos FC’s Antonio Doblas till the end of the Segunda Division B season.Meanwhile, ATK skipper Borja Fernandez and midfielder Javi Lara have also been on the move in Hero ISL’s off-season. Fernandez joined UD Almeria, while Cordoba secured the services of Lara as both teams look for a strong end to their season in the Segunda Division.
