NorthEast United FC became the fourth team to qualify for the Hero Super Cup 2023 semi-finals after they beat NorthEast United FC 6-3 in their final fixture of group D at the EMS Corporation Stadium, in Kozhikode, on Wednesday.

Ahead of the Group D's final round of fixtures on Wednesday, Hero Indian Super League (ISL) sides Jamshedpur FC, Bengaluru FC, and Odisha FC had already booked their place in the semi-finals.

Chennaiyin FC, Mumbai City FC and NorthEast United FC all stood a chance of qualifying from Group D. While Mumbai City FC beat Chennaiyin FC in their final group fixture, they fell short in the end on goal difference. NorthEast United began their campaign with a defeat to Chennaiyin FC but two wins in a row helped them top their group, sealing their passage to the semi-finals.
