This was the first time the Hero Super Cup was played in a single round-robin format, with the top team from each of the four groups advancing to the semi-final. The previous two editions of the tournament were conducted in a single-elimination format.
The third edition of the Hero Super Cup ended on a bright note for Odisha FC as they emerged victorious over inaugural champions Bengaluru FC with a 2-1 score in the final. Odisha FC's victory in the tournament has granted them the chance to participate in the AFC Cup Qualifier on April 29, Saturday. Throughout the tournament, there were surprises, shocks, stunning comebacks, spectacular goals, and tough tackles.
The total number of goals scored in the Hero Super Cup 2023 saw a noticeable rise in tandem with an increase in the overall number of goals.
In this edition of the Hero Super Cup, there were a total of 113 goals scored in 32 games, with an average of 3.53 goals per game.

In this edition of the Hero Super Cup, the highest number of goals scored by a team is 11, which was achieved by NorthEast United FC, Jamshedpur FC, and Odisha FC. They fell slightly behind the previous record set by Bengaluru FC (13) and FC Goa (12) in the first and second editions of the Hero Super Cup respectively.
