The Round 3 of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 season was full of enthralling drama and captivating moments on the pitch that included some spectacular matches, keeping fans glued to their screens. 

Round 3 began with a draw involving a watertight match between Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters FC while NorthEast United FC were triumphed over by Chennaiyin FC in a close encounter.

On the flip side, the fixture involving Odisha FC and SC East Bengal witnessed another goalfest, with the former overpowering the latter in a glorious 6-4 win, biggest win of the 2021-22 season yet.

Mumbai City FC ran riot over rivals ATK Mohun Bagan in a 5-1 win, accomplishing their biggest victory against them in the history of Hero ISL. Round 3 concluded with Jamshedpur FC and Hyderabad FC, sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Goalkeeper

Vishal Kaith (Chennaiyin FC) - 6.41

Kaith was a saviour for the Marina Machans, denying NorthEast United FC the opportunity to equalise by making three critical saves, helping his team win their second game of the season.

Defenders

Hector Ramirez (Odisha FC) - 9.33

The center-back was pivotal to Odisha FC’s victory over SC East Bengal as he scored two crucial goals, and also made nine clearances and three blocks, helping his side to claim the three points. Deservedly so, he won the Hero of the Match award.

Roshan Naorem (Bengaluru FC) - 7.55

The Blues’ set-piece taker provided an assist while also creating two chances for his team in their 1-1 draw against Kerala Blasters FC.

Mourtada Fall (Mumbai City FC) - 7.88

Fall was rock solid in the backline for the Islanders as he had a passing accuracy of 89% and made four clearances besides scoring a goal in the second half.

Ashique (Bengaluru FC) - 7.52

The defender was the lone goalscorer for the Blues’ with a goal late in the second half.

Midfielders

Anirudh Thapa (Chennaiyin FC) - 7.72

The skipper delivered when it mattered the most scoring the team's winner against NorthEast united FC with a beautiful goal in the 74th minute.

Lallianzuala Chhangte (Chennaiyin FC) - 8.28

Chhangte helped Chennaiyin FC draw first blood against NorthEast United FC with a goal in the 41st minute, and had a cracking performance in the midfield which won him the Hero of the Match award.

Javier Hernandez (Odisha FC) - 7.7

Hernandez was a powerhouse for the Odisha side, making three goal contributions alongside creating two chances in the game.

Forwards

Greg Stewart (Jamshedpur FC) - 8.43

Stewart made a significant impact in the game helping his team by scoring a goal in the 41st minute and creating five chances in the game. For his outstanding performance on the pitch, Stewart won the Hero of the Match award.

Vikram Singh (Mumbai City FC) -10

Highest rated player of Round 3, Singh was the star performer for the Islanders as he bagged two goals, rattling ATK Mohun Bagan’s defence. The winger was awarded Hero of the Match for his top performance.

Bipin Singh (Mumbai City FC) - 8.16

The winger notched the fifth goal for his side and also provided an assist for the first goal. He was a pivot in the Islanders’ attack, creating three chances.
