The All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced the fixtures and dates of all the matches in the tournament that will see the Indian men’s national team lock horns with Mongolia, Vanuatu and Lebanon in June 2023. 

The Blue Tigers who are preparing for the AFC Asian Cup in Qatar in January 2024, the draw for which was conducted on Thursday will look to use this tournament to build understanding and nail down their strongest squad for the tournament. 

Head coach Igor Stimac who guided India to victory in the Hero Tri-Nation tournament earlier this year will have his task cut out as he zeroes in on his preferred squad for the big tournament in January. 

Lebanon is the highest ranked country in the tournament and are placed just two places above India in the FIFA rankings with Vanuatu and Mongolia being the two lower-ranked teams. 

The Hero Intercontinental Cup will be held entirely in Bhubaneswar, Odisha and India will begin the tournament with a game against Mongolia.
