Mumbai City FC will be looking for their third win on the bounce in the 2016 Hero Indian Super League when they host Atlético de Kolkata at Mumbai Football Arena on Tuesday. Alexandre Guimaraes’ men will be looking to maintain their unblemished start to the season having defeated FC Pune City and NorthEast United FC in their opening two fixtures of the season. The former Costa Rican manager admitted that while he is happy with his side’s start to the season, the unique format of the league doesn’t allow much time for celebration as things can change quickly. “We are all very pleased with the start of the season. It’s a total different feeling that the club and fans have…it is going to be a different season for MCFC, so of course this is good. We know we are just at the start of the season so you have to be very alert as we play every three to four days.” Guimaraes told reporters at the pre-match press conference. He added: “There is not much time to celebrate or cry. You have to always be competitive and we have our third game tomorrow. It will be a tough game against a good team that has re-signed its players from last season especially the foreign players, so they have a good understanding of each other. We have to continue to play our game and be focused, very aggressive, solid and compact in our game especially our defence. It’s important that we continue to get three points.”Guimaraes also stressed the need to improve in both attack and defence in spite of his side’s strong start to the season that has seen them take maximum points and notch up two clean sheets. “We have to improve to ensure we do not give the rivals easy chances. In the last two games we did very well but we gave away some good opportunities to the opponent. So if we reduce the margin (of errors) that will make us even stronger. We have to improve in different ways of attacking. But now it’s just the games that will make you improve because you do not have time in practice to make corrections.” he said. When asked about any potential injury concerns ahead of the clash against Kolkata, the 56-year-old chose to keep his cards close to his chest. “We have a little more than 24 hours for the game. We will have checkups today evening as well as tomorrow morning to see how the players feel. Then at lunch tomorrow we will know exactly with whom I can start.” said Guimaraes.
