Delhi Dynamos FC and FC Goa played out a 0-0 draw at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Monday. Chances were few and far in between for both sides throughout the 90 minutes but the goalkeepers did well to display their quality when they were called upon. The result does little to help Goa,who are still in contention for a spot in the play-offs.

At the post-match press conference, head coach of Delhi Dynamos Josep Gombau was present to share his thoughts on the match. “I am satisfied with the game that we played today. Our opponents were the top scorers and they left Delhi without scoring, which is something that we did well. We created few chances and if we had taken one of these (chances), we could have won the game. But I am satisfied with our game plan and it worked well,” he proudly said.

Despite being out of the reckoning for a spot in the play-offs, Gombau reaffirmed his faith in his players' motivation and professionalism. “I think all my players are very professional. I think that we have a few things to work on. The Super Cup is coming. Our performances in the last three games have been very good. Everybody is very motivated, and I think that we are playing quite good football. We have just three days to prepare for the next game, but we are going to NorthEast to try and win this game,” he remarked.

From Goa’s end, Sergio Lobera took questions from the media. The Spaniard acknowledged his team’s inability to find the back of the net but also hailed Francisco Dorronsoro’s performance for Delhi. “I think in this game, the man of the match was the (Delhi) goalkeeper, like the game against Jamshedpur. It is true that we had some chances, but we could not put the ball into the net. But maybe we weren’t that fresh because of the number of games. We had three games in eight days,” Lobera opined.

Talking about his side’s chances of making the play-off spots after the league phase, Lobera said, “I think the spot in the play-offs is not done yet. This league gives many chances to the teams and if we think it is done, then we are making a big mistake. I think we have another 10 days to get ready for the last stage of the season. If we are strong at home, then I think we have a good chance to make it for the play-offs.”
