Picture this: Hyderabad FC is down by a goal against a resolute Kerala Blasters FC with time quickly trickling away. Everyone is looking at regular goal scorers like Bartholomew Ogeechee and Javier Sivero, to bring HFC back into the game. With literally a few minutes on the clock, Hyderabad FC get a corner that gets cleared away but, then the ball proceeds to fly into the top left corner after a picture-sequel volley.

That is what happened to Sahil Tavora. His 88th-minute strike from the edge of the box, not only equalised the score but, also led to Hyderabad FC winning their first Hero ISL title.

“I think it was a great moment. I was aware that the clock was ticking and it fell perfectly to me and I struck it and thankfully I connected well, and it was a great goal”, said the 26-year-old.

Just like his Head Coach Manuel Marquez, Sahil Tavora was quick to heap praise on penalties hero Laxmikant Kattimani,” Credit goes to Kattimani. He's been great for us all season, not just today, but I think it is a fitting tribute to him because he lost a final here and just to come back and have this moment. He deserves this.”

After spending spells with FC Goa and Mumbai City FC, Sahil Tavora finally got his hands on the Hero ISL trophy and he could not control his emotions. He said,” It means everything. We worked so hard for this. It's something I dreamed up for sure. To get a goal in the final as well and to win it like this is a dream come true. God has a plan for you, it is incredible.”
