García targets 20-25 points for the season

A win has remained elusive for Atlético de Kolkata in their past four home games. But marquee player Luis García, who addressed the media on the eve of the match against NorthEast United FC, did not seem to be bogged down by their recent winless streak.
“We are on the top of the table, that means we are definitely doing something right. The only thing is that we have to find a way to score more goals and start winning again,” the Spaniard said.
García also dismissed any concerns about the lack of goals from his teammates. “Of course, we would like to score more goals, but the real concern would have been if we weren’t able to create chances,” he emphasised. He remained nonchalant about dropping points, at home as well: “We are expecting to reach 20-25 points from our remaining matches, I think we can continue to keep looking at the target, it does not matter if we get it from our home or away matches.”
Atlético de Kolkata had beaten North East United in Guwahati, but García expects tomorrow’s game to be a different challenge. “It is a totally different game, we will try to do our work and improve from what we did in our last game and try to get more goals,” he said. “Pressure will be on every team. Of course, we will have the crowd support, that is an advantage, but I don’t think the artificial turf will give us any added advantage.” he added.
The Liverpool legend dismissed the idea of any particular player from the away team being a danger to the hosts. “I think they are a compact team. Koke creates a lot of chances for them,” García said. He also praised NorthEast United’s marquee player and fellow countryman Joan Capdevila. "Capdevila is a very clever player, he understands his position very well. To beat him, we too need to be in the right position,” he commented.
Striker Arnal Llibert, who was present at the media interaction, was asked if the team should consider playing with two strikers. “I don’t think so, we have always played with one striker, which has been our philosophy so far. About the lack of goals - there is no excuse. But it can happen to any team, everybody wants to win.” he said.
The hosts have concerns about the availability of Biswajit Saha and Cavin Lobo who are both injured. The latter’s injury is more serious and the team management will take a call on his situation tomorrow.
