The Hero Indian Super League (ISL) is midway through the season as teams look to consolidate their position and qualify for the playoffs. Matchweek 10 goes through, and still we are yet to witness a goalless draw in the 2022-23 season.

21 goals were scored across five games, while three teams got themselves a clean sheet. From goals galore to having a new team at the top of the table, matchweek 10 had everything.

ATK Mohun Bagan won their game with a third clean sheet in a row as they beat Jamshedpur FC 1-0 while Hyderabad FC regained the top spot in the standings as they beat East Bengal FC 2-0 at home.

Meanwhile, FC Goa emerged victorious after facing two consecutive defeats in the league after beating high-flying Odisha FC while also keeping a clean sheet at home. In probably one of the biggest games of the season, Chennaiyin FC scored seven goals past NorthEast United FC to claim their biggest away win in the league.

Finally, Kerala Blasters FC rounded off matchweek 10 with their fifth consecutive victory in the league when they defeated Bengaluru FC 3-2 in an entertaining southern rivalry.

Matchweek 10 showed us everything, and with that coming to a close, here are the takeaways:

ATK Mohun Bagan keep yet another clean sheet

A tightly contested game at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium in Kolkata was separated by a Hugo Boumous penalty right at the end against Jamshedpur FC, who have suffered their sixth straight loss in the Hero ISL.

ATK Mohun Bagan kept their third consecutive clean sheet in the league, previously doing so against Hyderabad FC and Bengaluru FC, which helped them gain three more important points, which keep them third in the points table, three points shy of the top of the table.

Hyderabad FC reclaim the top spot

The reigning Hero ISL champions won their second match in a row, which has helped them climb back to the top of the table with 22 points in front of their name. They look to sit comfortably and qualify for the playoffs as we go into the second half of the season.

Manolo Marquez's men kept a clean sheet and scored two goals against East Bengal FC in either half, with goals from Mohammad Yasir and Javier Siverio.

FC Goa get back to winning ways at home

FC Goa defeated high-flying Odisha FC convincingly in a much-needed win for the Gaurs. The side did so by keeping a clean sheet, their fourth of the season and third most in the competition, only behind Hyderabad FC (6), and ATK Mohun Bagan (4).

The Gaurs scored three goals past the Juggernauts, all in the second half, to get back to winning ways after facing two defeats in the Hero ISL. The head coach, Carlos Pena, stated that the previous two weeks had been difficult and that he was pleased with the win because the boys demonstrated good character.

El Khayati shimmers in Chennaiyin FC's historic win

The Marina Machans were simply rampant on Saturday evening when they took on NorthEast United FC, led by a new head coach in Vincento Annese, leading their pack for the first time.

New signing Abdenasser El Khayati was at the heart of the Chennaiyin FC midfield, as he stole the show with a record-breaking five goal contributions against the Highlanders, most ever by a player in a game in Hero ISL history. In a 10-goal thriller, Chennaiyin FC registered their biggest away win in their club's history partnered with the joint-most goals scored by a side (7) in a single Hero ISL game.

The win helped Chennaiyin FC improve their goal and points tally in the standings while that was not the case for the Highlanders who are yet to register points on the board in the 2022-23 season and sit last in the points table.

Kerala Blasters FC register their fifth win on the trot

Kerala Blasters FC kept up with their form as they won their fifth consecutive game in the league, this time coming out on the positive side in their contest against Bengaluru FC. It was, as expected, a very entertaining contest which ended 3-2 after the Blues had opened the scoring from the penalty spot very early into the game.

With that win, the Tuskers stay comfortable in the fourth spot with 18 points while Bengaluru FC will look to regroup themselves in order to gain a strong position in the league standings and mount a playoffs spot.
