With their play-off hopes on the line, Jamshedpur travel to the home of the defending champions Chennaiyin FC with the intent of picking up all three points on Saturday. Anything but a victory could prove to be catastrophic for the Miners but Jamshedpur will fancy themselves to do the needful, given the poor form of Chennaiyin.

At the pre-match conference, Cesar Ferrando, head coach of Jamshedpur, spoke about his side’s mentality ahead of the tie. "If we want to be in the top four, we need to win tomorrow. But I know tomorrow will be a tough match. Chennaiyin are a good team. They have signed good players. But we need to win. At the end of the season, we can look back and be proud of the team. Now we only need to think of winning tomorrow," he said.

Continuing on the same note, Ferrando listed down the problems his side have had to overcome throughout the campaign. "Sergio Cidoncha was injured for five matches, Carles Calvo had a three-match ban, Subrata Paul was banned for three matches. Michael Soosairaj was ill for three weeks. But I don’t want any excuses. We have a team. Tomorrow, we have to make sure that the best players play the match. It is a very important match and the only thing in our head is that we need to win tomorrow," the Spaniard stated.

Asked about his team’s inability to convert draws into victories this season, Ferrando replied, "When you analyse a match or season, you can think something different from what I think. We drew many matches because I think we need more quality in attack. We play like a team but at this moment, we need quality which we do not have."

Ferrando also provided a few injury updates and informed, "There are a lot of players who have not travelled with the team. Sumeet Passi has not travelled with the team – he has an ankle injury. Robin Gurung picked up an injury in the last game where he fractured his foot, so he will not play. Raju Gaikwad is not match fit yet.”
