East Bengal FC to face FC Altyn Asyr in AFC Champions League Two Preliminary Stage
East Bengal FC were confirmed a berth in the AFC Champions League two 2024-25 preliminary stage after emerging winners of the Kalinga Super Cup.

Indian Super League (ISL) side East Bengal FC are set to go up against Turkmenistan’s FC Altyn Asyr in the inaugural edition of AFC Champions League Two Preliminary Stage match on August 14, 2024. The tie will take place at East Bengal FC’s home stadium, Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata.
East Bengal FC are among the four sides that are vying for spots in the ACL Two Group Stage's West Zone. Al Ahli of Bahrain and Kuwait SC will compete for the last slot. They secured a place in the AFC Champions League two 2024-25 preliminary stage after winning the Kalinga Super Cup, which was their first national title after 12 years.
The AFC Champions League Two, a new men's club competition, will feature 32 teams.These teams will be evenly split into eight groups for a round-robin format scheduled from September 17 to December 5 for the 2024-25 season.
Directly qualifying are 27 teams (12 from the West, 15 from the East), alongside three teams (two from the West, one from the East) that will be eliminated from the AFC Champions League Elite Preliminary Stage.
ISL side Mohun Bagan Super Giant have already secured their place in the Group Stage after winning the Shield in the 2023-24 season.
