Indian Super League (ISL) outfit, Jamshedpur FC, will look to bounce back from their defeat in the first game when they take on the Indian Navy side at the Mohun Bagan Stadium in Kolkata on Thursday.
Jamshedpur FC's young squad encountered a challenging start in the Durand Cup 2023, suffering a 5-0 loss in their inaugural match against Mumbai City FC. The reserve unit of Jamshedpur FC struggled against a strong Mumbai City FC lineup, resulting in a one-sided match.
Despite this setback, the team is now focused on moving forward and making a fresh start in their second group stage game.
“We all knew that the last match playing against Mumbai City FC was not going to be an easy match; we were aware of that. But yes, there are some really positive things to take from that match, and of course, we are here to learn from our mistakes,” said Jamshedpur FC Reserves head coach Steven Dias before the game.
“And yes, we are working on correcting those mistakes, so hopefully, we will perform well in our next match. We had some good performances in the last match, especially from our goalkeeper Mohit who made some really amazing saves, and a few others also performed well,” he added.
However, Dias has now completely shifted his focus to the next match and expects an improved performance from his players.
Getting match ready! 💪⚽

The Indian Navy also comes into the match after a defeat in their opening match. Despite the loss, they put on a spirited performance against Mohammedan SC, who won by a 2-1 scoreline. Hence, Jamshedpur FC is poised for another formidable challenge against Indian Navy.
“It’s not going to be an easy match (against Indian Navy) because all teams are equally good. But yes, our preparations are going well, the boys are ready to play the next match, and they are working really hard. I think it's going to be a good match, and our boys are really eager to perform,” Dias stated.
