NorthEast United FC and Jamshedpur FC will look to get their Durand Cup 2022 campaigns back on track after suffering defeats in their respective opening matches.

The Highlanders went down 0-6 to Odisha FC in Guwahati while Jamshedpur FC lost 1-2 to Bengaluru FC in Kolkata and will need to pick up points to resurrect their campaigns.

NorthEast United FC vs Army Green (3 PM IST in Guwahati)

It was a tough start for NorthEast United FC as they lost 0-6 to Odisha FC in the Durand Cup opener.

Still early days in the season, the defeat would have hurt but also given the coaching staff an idea of where the team stands and in which areas where they must improve.

With home advantage behind them, the Highlanders would be keen to bounce back against Army Green but it won’t be easy for the young team who are lacking in experience at the top level.

The scoreline may suggest a different picture but NorthEast United FC did compete well in certain parts of the game against Odisha FC and will be keen to build on those positives when they face Army Green on Sunday.

Army Green who won the Durand Cup in 2016 will be no easy opponents as they would look to repeat their feat of winning the trophy they won six years ago.

NorthEast United FC’s match against Army Green FC is scheduled for 3 PM IST in Guwahati and will be shown live on Sports18, Sports18 HD and will be streamed Live on Voot Select and Jio TV.

Jamshedpur FC vs Mohammedan SC (6 PM IST in Kolkata)

Jamshedpur FC will face a tough task against hosts Mohammedan SC as they look to record their first points of the Durand Cup 2022 campaign after suffering a 1-2 loss against Bengaluru FC in their first match.

Carlos Santamarina’s team gave a good account of themselves against the more experienced and seasoned Bengaluru FC as they pushed them all the way.

Goals from Sunil Chhetri and Roy Krishna proved to be the difference as Jamshedpur FC’s youngsters showed a lot of character and quality.

They were brave on the ball as they tried to build up from the back and caused the Blues some problems. It needed a top save from Gurpreet Singh Sandhu to deny Jamshedpur FC a point from the match.

However, their opponents Mohammedan SC had a dream opening to their Durand Cup campaign when they beat FC Goa 3-1 at the Salt Lake stadium and will be full of confidence against Jamshedpur FC.

It will be a test of character for the JFC youngsters who will look to get their campaign back on track on Sunday.

Jamshedpur FC’s match against Mohammedan FC is scheduled for 6 PM IST in Kolkata and will be shown live on Sports18, Sports18 HD and will be streamed Live on Voot Select and Jio TV.
