Two Hero Indian Super League (ISL) sides will be on the centre stage as ATK Mohun Bagan clash with rivals Mumbai City FC in their second Group B fixture at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Wednesday.

ATK Mohun Bagan went down 2-3 to Rajasthan United in a last minute thriller while Mumbai City FC clinched a comfortable 4-1 victory over Indian Navy FT in their opening games.

Both sides will be facing each other for the first time ever in the Durand Cup, in a rivalry that has produced some unique, memorable, and nerve-wracking moments over the past three years.

With some statement signings done by both clubs in the summer transfer window, with the likes of Florentin Pogba, Greg Stewart amongst others, it will be engrossing to see how the two teams fare in a high-profile rivalry between these two teams.

Currently on top of Group B, a victory over ATK Mohun Bagan consolidates the Islanders’ top position in the group while the Mariners will be pressing for a win to revive their Durand Cup campaign.

“I am very happy with the start we have got. We conceded first against Indian Navy FT, but we settled in quickly and played good football overall. But, it's just the beginning, and we want to carry forward the momentum,” said Des Buckingham ahead of the clash.

The Juan Ferrando-led side will look to impose a commanding side and register their maiden win over the Islanders, as they’re yet to secure a victory over the former Hero ISL champions.

"We need to work on our finishing. Chances will come against Mumbai City FC, we have to make those count. Defensively also, we need to be careful," said Juan Ferrando prior to the match.

The match between ATK Mohun Bagan and Mumbai City FC is scheduled for 6pm IST and will be telecasted live on the Sports18 network, with live streaming available on Voot Select and JioTV.
