NorthEast United FC midfielder Do Dong-Hyun was a rare bright spark for his team which crashed to a 1-0 defeat away to FC Pune City today. The 20-year-old South Korean who has turned out for Australian A-League club Brisbane Roar and Japanese side FC Gifu earlier, was upset that his team could not avail of the several opportunities they had to score.“We got a lot of opportunities to score, so we’re really upset but Pune played really well and were the better team,” Do told www.indiansuperleague.com after the match. The Korean was expecting a difficult game considering that it was an away fixture and so it turned out to be. “It was a difficult game, were away in Pune so it was always going to be difficult. I really wanted to win because it would have been a big step in qualifying for the semis,” he said.Do thanked the NorthEast fans who came all the way to support their team and apologised for the adverse result. “I would say thank you to them (the fans) for coming so far, I really tried my best,” he confessed. “I wanted to give them a good result but this is football so it happens sometimes.”Reiterating that the team’s aim is not only to finish in the last four but also to top the table, Do declared, “We do not want to be just in the top four, we want to be on the top of the table.”
