FC Pune City host Delhi Dynamos FC in their final home game of the season in the Hero Indian Super League. Pune City surged into the top half of the league table with a win over Mumbai City FC in their last outing, but face a resurgent Delhi team who are also fighting for a place in the top four. The two teams met in the first week of the season, in Delhi, with the game ending in a draw. But the stakes are much higher this time around, with the league stage coming to an end. Delhi have picked up seven points from a possible nine in their last three games, and will hope to continue their form to cause Pune City problems. However, it will be a tall order, as Pune have lost just one game at home.Pune City would knock Delhi Dynamos out of contention for the semifinals, although their own hopes would still rest on their final game against Kerala Blasters. A draw would not alter the scenario for Pune City, but it would leave Delhi with the slimmest of hopes for qualification. A Delhi win would mean they would take the lead in the race for the fourth spot, as well as ensuring that they would go into the final round of games with their destiny in their own hands.Form Guide (most recent games first)FC Pune City: WDLLDDelhi Dynamos: DWWLLKostas Katsouranis vs Hans Mulder The Greek international Katsouranis has been the most influential midfielder for the hosts with his performances, and has featured in every game for Pune. He provided both the assists for Dudu’s goals against Mumbai, taking his tally to two assists to go along with the four goals he has scored. Dutch midfielder Hans Mulder will be up against him in the middle of the park. Not a player who will be overawed by the task, Mulder has been Delhi’s enforcer in midfield, putting in tackles to break up plays and pressing forward in attack, and chipping in with a couple of handy goals. Kostas might just find going a little difficult against Delhi.Dudu Omagbemi vs Anwar AliDudu’s performance in the previous outing will have surely given his confidence a much-needed boost, with his brace coming on the back of a barren run of five goalless games. His performances have kept David Trezeguet out of the starting lineup, and Pune will hope he finds his finishing again to give the team some breathing space in the top half of the table. Assigned with marking the Nigerian will be Indian international Anwar Ali. Ali has looked good in defence for the visitors, and has appeared for Delhi in all of their twelve games, being a crucial part of a defence which has conceded just two goals in the past three games.Dharmaraj Ravanan vs Gustavo dos SantosRavanan was slotted into central defence when Daniele Magliochetti got injured, and has grown into his role as a centre back in the competition. With the responsibility that head coach Franco Colomba has entrusted him, he has formed a formidable partnership alongside Bruno Cirillo. He will be put to test against Delhi though, when he comes up against Brazilian livewire Gustavo dos Santos. Dos Santos has been a troublesome forward for defences to cope with in the ISL, and has helped himself to four goals, along with two assists for his team. The 20-year old will certainly be a handful, and should be at his creative best for this crunch match.Players to watchLenny RodriguesThe Indian international has looked more solid in his defensive midfielder’s role with every passing game, becoming an integral part of Franco Colomba’s outfit. He has become more assertive, and his long-range shooting has been a trouble for keepers in the past three games.Mads Junker The Danish forward has scored three goals in twelve appearances, but Junker would no doubt have hoped to hit the back of the net more often. As Delhi head into this exciting clash on the back of some positive performances, Junker will hope to deliver when his team need it most. Team SpeakFC Pune CityGiovanni Mei (assistant coach): “It absolutely is necessary to get three points tomorrow.”Delhi Dynamos FCHarm van Veldhoven (head coach): “We too have, in the last three games, taken seven points, and are ready to go for it.”
