ATK travel to the home of in-form Mumbai City FC hoping to pick up three points in order to boost their chances of securing a playoff spot. However, the two-time Hero Indian Super League (HeroISL) champions will need to come up with a special performance if they are to breach a Mumbai defence which hasn't conceded a goal in their last three matches.

Prior to Saturday's match, ATK head coach Steve Coppell was present at the pre-match press conference to answer questions from the media. The Englishman began by acknowledging the task at hand and said, "We respect that they’re a strong team. Obviously, they had a little bit of a hiccup against Goa, but we know they’re a very well-organized team and that’s the challenge for us to come here as an away team and try to break that defence down. But it’s a challenge that we relish."

Coppell then went on to suggest that the involvement of his creative players may make the difference for his team. "We have to play well. There are no easy games in the Hero ISL. I think everybody agrees with that. Our creative players have to get the ball in good positions to be able to break down what has been a very resolute defence," he said.

The veteran coach also stated that his team was wary of Mumbai's attacking threat. "When we don’t have the ball, we need to be strong ourselves. Just respect the attacking potential that Mumbai have. (Modou) Sougou obviously and Arnold (Issoko). So, we’re aware of what they are capable of but I’m sure they’re aware of what we’re capable of," he opined.

The ATK boss concluded his pre-match conference by providing an update on new signing Emiliano Alfaro and ruled him out owing to an injury. "We had to change at centre-forward with Kalu Uche and then we’ve brought in Alfaro. He has a problem with his Achilles. We think it is quite a serious problem. So, he’s taking medical advice on that. It’s an injury that occurred in training when he was just in isolation by himself, nobody near him. So, he’s had an initial MRI scan and now we’re waiting for some expert opinions on the best way forward from here," Coppell revealed.
