FC Goa take on Jamshedpur FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur on Wednesday with a chance to confirm the top spot on the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20 table. The Gaurs need just a point to seal the top spot after fellow contenders ATK FC were beaten by Chennaiyin FC, but they will look to end their league stage with a win to keep the spirit high in the camp.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Goa’s interim head coach Clifford Miranda shared his opinion on the upcoming fixture, “Just because they haven’t had a good season doesn’t mean it will be an easy game for us. I am sure we are going to face an equally competitive team that will want to win. This is the same team which beat us back in Goa. I won’t take it lightly because it’s a very important game against a very good opponent.”

When asked about Goa’s high chances to emerge as Hero ISL 2019-20 league winners, Miranda said, “One of our objectives for the season was to top the league. Winning against Jamshedpur helps us to do just that and to play in the AFC Champions League.”

Adding to this, he also spoke about the squad at his disposal ahead of the Jamshedpur fixture. “We have no injuries but suspensions. Brandon Fernandes and Seriton Fernandes (will miss the match), but that is why we have a squad,” he informed.

He was joined by Lenny Rodrigues who was asked about life after Sergio Lobera. “We do miss him, but we still use his strategies while playing. This is a very important match. We have been working hard to win the matches and we need to win this match as well,” the midfielder commented.
