NorthEast United FC succumbed to their third successive loss in Season 2 of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati. The Highlanders got off to a positive start after a Francis Dadzie header in the 12th minute. However, a quick blitz by FC Goa featuring goals from Jonatan Lucca and Reinaldo followed by a second-half strike by Mandar Rao Dessai made it three losses from three for NorthEast United FC. Skipper Cedric Hengbart spoke to indiansuperleague.com in an exclusive chat after the game and when asked about his thoughts on the defeat in their first match at home, the Frenchman couldn’t hide his disappointment.“Yes, this was not the result [he had hoped for]. We wanted a good match, we wanted to win, but we made a lot of mistakes in defence. After going 1-0 up we continued to attack without any security. We need to learn from this match and continue to work on the next match,” he saidThe Frenchman also praised fans who turned up in large numbers to cheer the home team on. “We are very happy and fortunate to have fans like these. But like I said, we could not win the match for them. Next two matches we have against Chennai and Kolkata so we should now focus on these matches.” said Hengbart.Hengbart said he was looking forward to his team’s next game against Chennayin FC on October 20. “Before making those plans we need to remedy the mistakes that we did tonight. We need to check the video of tonight's match and find our mistakes and work on them. We have five days before the game, we will focus on the game during this time.”
