Delhi Dynamos FC bowed out of the 2015 Hero Indian Super League after a 3-0 defeat by FC Goa in the second leg of their semi-final at Fatorda’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Tuesday and marquee player-cum-coach Roberto Carlos said the Lions had already lost going into the game after spurning several chances in their 1-0 win in New Delhi in the first leg last week.“We lost the game back home in Delhi. We had so many opportunities in that game. To be honest, I was afraid and kind of knew this would happen. Two goals were our mistakes. You have that feeling, why we didn’t score three-four goals in Delhi. That’s how football is. You don’t score there, then you come here and they score against you. Goa were superior and they deserve to go to the final. I love my team. I just want to thank them for their effort. Through all the difficulties we faced, they were amazing,” Carlos told reporters after the match. The Brazilian also expressed satisfaction with his team’s campaign this season that saw them finish fourth at the completion of the league stage. “My season with Delhi Dynamos FC was very special, it being my first year here and getting my team to the semis. I’ve learnt a lot with these players. But I am used to winning. The feeling when you lose is hard. Here with you I am smiling but when I get home with my family then they know how I am suffering. My heart is very tiny right now. It was a very nice season with a team that was built in quick time. I had amazing players, Indian and foreign both. Obviously when you lose a semi-final it’s hard to celebrate but I am proud of them. Thank you everyone in India for opening your doors for me and I hope I left a good image here,” Carlos said. When asked how it felt losing to his FC Goa counterpart and former coach Zico, Carlos said: “There are two sides. Our friendship, and the professional side. I have friends at a lot of clubs but Zico is special and I wish him all the best. I hope it will be an amazing final. I don’t know who will be on the other side but I hope the better team wins. I gave Zico a tight hug and wished him all the luck. He has been chasing this title for a while now, I am just starting out.”
