The 2015 Hero Indian Super League has entered its business end and understandably enough most teams are now laying emphasis on getting at least one point from an away game, but Delhi Dynamos FC marquee player-cum-coach Roberto Carlos is not bothered. Speaking to the media ahead of Delhi’s home game against defending champions Atlético de Kolkata at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the Brazilian said: “I don’t play defensively. It’s just that you have to position yourself well. I don’t mind the other team being defensive. What matters to me is my team, their motivation and their eagerness to win.”Delhi currently lie third in the table with 14 points from eight matches and will displace FC Goa at the top of the league if they win on Saturday. The Lions will be buoyed by the return of Robin Singh in time for this match. Robin helped Delhi earn one point in the dying moments of their last game against Mumbai City FC and on Thursday evening guided India to a 1-0 win against Guam in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.“I am considering starting [Adil] Nabi with Robin Singh. Tomorrow, I will position the team better so Robin and Nabi can play together,” Carlos revealed his strategy.Attacking midfielder Florent Malouda, who has featured in every game for Delhi from start to finish, sat alongside Carlos at the press conference and when asked to comment on his marathon efforts, he said: “For me it’s normal to play every three days. I prefer playing many games. I think travel is difficult but otherwise we are on the pitch, it’s not a problem at all. It’s a pleasure for me to be able to play. It will be better in the upcoming games because there was a lot of heat and humidity in the opening games but it is much better now.” Meanwhile, ATK marquee player Helder Postiga is back with the team after his rehabilitation in Portugal. The Portuguese injured himself in the 2015 ISL opener against Chennaiyin FC after scoring two goals in his team’s win. However, he won’t play on Saturday. “I am in the last phase of my recovery. I hope it’s quick. I am happy to be back,” Postiga told reporters. With 13 points from nine matches, ATK lie fourth in the table and Postiga is hopeful of a semi-final berth. “I have confidence in my friends and my coach. I hope my team tries to win the last [few[ games and can qualify for the semis. I hope to help the team in the next game. It’s a short tournament. You can win, you can lose. It’s normal.”ATK have not had great results playing at home this season and looking ahead of the Delhi game, ATK coach Antonio Lopez Habas said: “It’s football. The next four games are in Kolkata. Sometimes you can play very well in Kolkata or away. Someday you don’t play well and still win. It’s different every day. We have to work the same every day, in the same manner. To qualify for the semis.”
