Carles Cuadrat steps down as East Bengal FC head coach
Since taking charge of the club in 2023, Cuadrat led the team to victory in the Kalinga Super Cup and secured a runners-up position in last year's Durand Cup.
Indian Super League (ISL) side East Bengal FC on Monday announced that head coach Carles Cuadrat has left the club. Bino George will take over as interim coach until East Bengal FC find a permanent replacement for Cuadrat.
Cuadrat was instrumental in guiding the Red & Gold Brigade to the Kalinga Super Cup title in January earlier this year. He also led the team to a runners-up finish in last year’s Durand Cup.

Mr Vibhash Vardhan Agarwal of Emami Group said, “The Emami East Bengal FC management appreciates Coach Carles for guiding the team to the Kalinga Super Cup title and AFC continental competitions after a long hiatus. We wish him the best in his future endeavours.”
Cuadrat has departed from East Bengal FC following a challenging start to the 2024-25 season.
The club faced elimination from the AFC Cup in the Preliminary Round and currently finds itself at the bottom of the ISL standings.
East Bengal FC were defeated by Turkmenistan's Altyn Asyr in the AFC Cup, and their ISL campaign started poorly with away defeats to Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters FC. They then faced a defeat to FC Goa in their first ISL home game of the season.
