ATK have completed the signings of Michael Soosairaj from Jamshedpur FC and Michael Regin from Chennai City FC, the club announced on Tuesday. For the uninitiated, Soosairaj and Regin are brothers and have previously played together at Chennai City.

The double coup represents the early phases of ATK's aggressive rebuild for the upcoming season as the former two-time Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) champions look to get back the glory days under newly appointed head coach Antonio Lopez Habas.

Hero ISL fans will be familiar with Soosairaj, who impressed for Jamshedpur last season. Having joined the Miners from Chennai City before the Hero ISL 2018-19 campaign, the 24-year-old exceeded all expectations and emerged as one of the most promising up and coming talents in the country with some scintillating performances. The fleet-footed winger can cut in as well as he can work the flanks and was a nightmare for any defender in the league.

Despite missing a considerable chunk of the campaign due to injury and sickness, Soosai, as he is popularly known to fans, raked up an impressive 4 goals in 14 matches. His most memorable performance was in the first half of the campaign against eventual finalists FC Goa, where he almost single-handedly propelled Jamshedpur to a memorable 4-1 win at the Furnace. His Hero ISL performances for Jamshedpur also earned Soosai a maiden call-up to the national team camp for the King’s Cup in Thailand under new India head coach Igor Stimac. Soosai has reportedly been handed a long-term five-year contract by ATK.

Soosai's elder brother Regin, on the other hand, joins ATK on the back of a successful season with Chennai City. The Tamil Nadu-born player played a big part of Akbar Nawas' Hero I-League 2018-19 title-winning outfit. The 31-year-old put pen on paper to a two-year deal.
