Former Swedish skipper Fredrik Ljungberg is set to grace the first edition of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) as a marquee player. The ex-Arsenal ace tweeted from his official Twitter account about his excitement of playing in India soon. “Joining Indian Super League in September for three months to help promote football in India. Even though I am retired, the opportunity to play in India is really exciting. Keen to share my knowledge and experience of the English Premier League,” he tweeted.Ljungberg was the captain of the Swedish national team until he announced his retirement from international football following the 2008 European Championship. He has also played in two World Cup finals, earning 75 caps through his 14-year career. The Arsenal legend played 216 games for the Gunners, finding the net 72 times and won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups. He was part of the 2003-04 squad who were dubbed ‘The Invincibles’ after they remained unbeaten in the league the whole season.
