SC East Bengal lost 3-1 to ATK Mohun Bagan in their last match. SCEB were leading till the 64th minute after which Kiyan Giri of ATKMB scored an equaliser. He scored two more goals in stoppage time to steal all the three points from SCEB.

Ahead of SC East Bengal’s clash against Chennaiyin FC, coach Rivera addressed the media during the official pre-match press conference.

Here are the excerpts from the press conference.

How difficult is it to motivate the players after the derby defeat?

If we have to motivate the players after playing a very good match, it is easy. We did a lot of things well. You just need to remind the players of all the things we did well. They know we are improving everyday.

How did the team cope after a heart-breaking loss to ATK Mohun Bagan?

They are professional players in a professional team so you have to be ready after a win or a defeat. You have to take the good things, correct your mistakes and start again for the new game.

What is your assessment of Arindam Bhattacharja?

Yeah sometimes when the team is at the bottom of the table it’s easy to point out the keeper. We are a team, it's not about individuals. We are a team when we win or when we lose.

SCEB has signed four players this month but there are only six games remaining. What’s the aim here?

Yeah, we are SC East Bengal and we have to do all the things we can to try to win every match. Even if there are only 5-6 games remaining.

What’s your take on the new attacking combination involving Perosevic and Marcelo?

It is a nice combination. It’s a pity these two players didn’t start the season together. I think they are one of the best pairings in the league.
