AIFF Super Cup: JFC and NEUFC chase vital win; FCG eye another three points
The Men of Steel and the Highlanders face off in search of their first win, while the Gaurs aim to make it two in two.
Indian Super League (ISL) sides Jamshedpur FC and NorthEast United FC lock horns in a must-win encounter to keep their semi-final hopes alive in the AIFF Super Cup 2025–26, while FC Goa face I-League champions Inter Kashi FC, aiming to make it two wins in two and strengthen their grip on Group B.
Must-win game for JFC and NEUFC
Both Jamshedpur FC and NorthEast United FC dropped points in their opening fixtures and now find themselves in a do-or-die situation.
The Highlanders were held to a 2-2 draw by Inter Kashi, while the Men of Steel went down 2-0 to defending champions FC Goa. Anything less than a win on Wednesday could prove costly, especially if FC Goa manage another victory.
Fire in their eyes, focused on the next challenge! 👀🎯

Juan Pedro Benali’s men entered the tournament full of confidence after successfully defending their Durand Cup title. However, they were caught off guard when Inter Kashi scored first in the opening game. Despite responding strongly with two goals inside the first half, NEUFC couldn’t hold on and had to settle for a point after a second-half equaliser. Benali will be looking for sharper focus and composure from his side as they aim for their first win of the tournament.

For Jamshedpur FC, the challenge has been to find stability following the departure of Khalid Jamil, with several new players still settling into the system. Despite their slow start, the Men of Steel will be eager to regroup and put their campaign back on track with a strong performance.
FC Goa eye back-to-back wins
Meanwhile, FC Goa will be eyeing their second successive win when they take on Inter Kashi at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Goa, on Wednesday.
The Gaurs began their title defence in style with a clinical 2-0 victory over Jamshedpur FC and now have a chance to take control of the group standings.
However, it won’t be an easy outing. This will be FC Goa’s third game in seven days, following their AFC Champions League Two commitments, and fatigue could be a factor. Head coach Manolo Marquez emphasised the importance of rotation and hinted at a few changes in the line-up.
“We have five games in 14 days, and this will be our third. We have a squad for this exact reason. We will make a few changes to the line-up,” said Manolo Marquez in the pre-match press conference.

The return of Iker Guarrotxena will provide a timely boost for the Gaurs. But Inter Kashi arrive high on confidence after earning a valuable draw against a full-strength NorthEast United FC in their opener. The I-League winners have further strengthened their squad with the inclusion of Spanish duo Mario Barco and David Humanes, both key members of their I-League-winning campaign last season. Their presence adds quality and experience as Inter Kashi look to pull off another surprise result.
“We have nothing to lose. Most of our players are young, but they are gaining experience and confidence with every match,” said Abhijit Mondal, Inter Kashi’s goalkeeping coach and acting head coach
