Indian Super League (ISL) side FC Goa are set to host Saudi giants Al-Nassr FC in their third group-stage match of the AFC Champions League Two at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Wednesday.

The Gaurs head into the clash on the back of consecutive losses against Al-Zawraa and FC Istiklol. Manolo Marquez’s side currently sit at the bottom of Group D and are still searching for their first goal of the campaign.

FC Goa showcased a valiant performance on home turf against Iraqi side Al-Zawraa in their opening fixture but eventually succumbed to a 0-2 defeat. Despite creating promising chances through Dejan Drazic, Javier Siverio, and others, the Gaurs were unable to make them count and came away empty-handed.

The Gaurs are set to face their sternest test yet in the tournament and will aim to rise to the occasion in front of their home fans. This time, they’ll want to make every chance count.

A similar story unfolded in their second group-stage encounter against Tajik champions FC Istiklol. FC Goa carved out a few clear-cut opportunities but couldn’t find the finishing touch as they went down fighting against the Tajikistan side.

Meanwhile, ten-time Saudi league winners and one of Asia’s most decorated clubs, Al-Nassr, remain unbeaten after their first two outings. They began their campaign with a resounding 5–0 victory over Istiklol FC before following it up with a 2–0 win against Al-Zawraa SC. Al-Nassr have travelled to Goa with a near full-strength squad, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcelo Brozović the only notable absentees.

In the group’s other fixture, Istiklol FC will host Al-Zawraa SC on the same day.
