India senior national team coach Wim Koevermans announced his 20-player squad for India’s two back-to-back international friendlies against AFC Challenge Cup Champions Palestine.

Both the matches would be held at the Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri, West Bengal on October 6 and 9 respectively.

The 8 Hero ISL teams are represented by 13 players in the squad. Interestingly all the 7 defenders in the squad are ISL players. Among them, FC Pune City’s Pritam Kotal has got a maiden call-up to the senior national camp.

Atlético de Kolkata, FC Goa, FC Pune City, Kerala Blasters FC and Mumbai City FC are represented by two players each while Chennaiyin FC, Delhi Dynamos FC and NorthEast United FC each have one player in the Indian camp.

The standby list is also dominated by ISL players, with 6 out of the 8 players representing ISL teams.

The squad assembles in Goa on September 27, where they would be based until October 3.

The India team are currently ranked 158th in the World while Palestine are 102nd as per the latest FIFA Rankings.
