Bengaluru FC will be up against a resilient Jamshedpur FC in Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday. The Blues’ young winger Udanta Singh has been a constant threat with his pace and has two assists in the campaign so far. While speaking exclusively to indiansuperleague.com ahead of the clash against Jamshedpur, Udanta lauded Bengaluru’s passionate home support. Here are the excerpts.
The past few years have been crucial to your growth – your growth with Bengaluru has earned you a place in the national side as well. What are your thoughts on this journey?
I worked hard from the start. When I started playing professional, I started from the bench and I’m in the starting XI (now). So, it’s good for me in the future.
What kind of relationship do you share with Sunil Chhetri off the field?
He always guides me like a brother. After practice we roam together. I learn a lot from him.
What’s your Hero ISL experience been like and how have you adjusted to the league?
It’s my second season in ISL. I started my career with Bengaluru, so I feel good. Playing in front of a huge crowd is good for me and the team as well.
The crowd support in Kanteerava is surreal – any message for the fans?
It’s the best feeling for me and the West Block Blues, they are phenomenal.
