Chennaiyin FC’s chances of making the semi-finals in the 2015 Hero Indian Super League were dealt a hammer blow by reigning champions Atlético de Kolkata at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Wednesday evening. Following the 2-1 defeat, the Super Machans continued propping up the Hero ISL table, having taken 10 points from as many matches. Chennaiyin FC midfielder Thoi Singh spoke to indiansuperleague.com shortly after the defeat and reviewed the game. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

Ten points off 10 matches. How tough will it be from here?

We have to work hard. We worked hard but had bad luck tonight. We will try even harder from the next match and try to win the remaining matches.

You took the lead but conceded two goals after that and lost the match. What do you have to say on that?

It happens in football. Winning and losing is a part of the game. We took the lead in the first half but conceded afterwards to lose the match. We will try even harder from the next game to win.

Chennaiyin FC have a great team this year. What’s going wrong?

In football you can have great players but make small mistakes can cost you the game. We will step up our efforts.

Your next match against Kerala Blasters FC will be a crucial one considering the table. What are your thoughts on that game?

We will have the advantage since it’s a home match. We will have to play well to win.
