Subrata Paul makes a save against Kerala Blasters FCSubrata Paul kept a clean sheet against Kerala Blasters FC and helped Mumbai City FC share points with the home side. Paul made a number of good saves to save the day for his team. As he spoke to indiansuperleague.com in an exclusive interview after the game in Kochi, India’s No 1 goalkeeper praised his defenders and congratulated the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) for drawing in world class players to our shores.First up, what are your thoughts on the game? The match was very good and an away match is always challenging so I think it was a fair result. Our defence held very well so I think it’s a good performance for an away game. You have five clean sheets to your name. How do you feel about that? We’re just trying to follow the coach’s instructions. Having five clean sheets is not the most important thing; the most important thing is Mumbai City did not lose. Our defence played very well in all the matches.According to you, where were you lacking in the game? Do you think you could have killed the game off somewhere? We didn’t play as well as we could. We didn’t have (André) Moritz. If he was there, I think we could have scored. But that’s life, so it happens. What was your favourite part of the whole game?I enjoyed the match. I love to play football anywhere in the world.Apart from this match, how has your ISL experience been so far? It’s been a great experience. More than 40,000 people have come to watch the match in the stadium (tonight). We’re playing with legends like Nicolas Anelka and David James. Getting these players to play in the ISL is itself a really big thing.Do you think India as a ‘footballing’ country will learn a lot from this experience? It’s going to help us a lot. After 10 years, the Indian people are going to be very happy (with the progress in football).
