Stijn Houben had a pretty compact game for the Delhi Dynamos FC against Atlético de Kolkata at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the national capital on Tuesday night. The game ended in a goalless draw leaving both sides to rue the chances that were missed. It was the teenaged Dutch central defender’s fifth outing for the club and he has proved to be an able replacement for experienced Belgian defender Wim Raymaekers who has been nursing an injury. The 19-year-old Houben, who is an alumnus of the famous Feyenoord academy in the Netherlands, spoke about his team’s chances of making it to the playoffs and a few other topics in an exclusive interview with indiansuperleague.com after the match. What did you think of your team’s performance today?I think we played the game in an organised way, we didn’t give away many chances and I think it was an okay result for both teams. We didn’t deserve more, that’s for sure. What do you think about Delhi’s next two away games? We have to win them both because then we go into the playoffs. I think we deserve that. We’ve been playing well, we’ve been working as a team, especially in the last two games, and I’m looking forward to it.Do you think Delhi has a realistic chance of making it to the playoffs? Yeah, I think so. Now we’re just one point behind, and I think we need to win the next two games. What did the coach tell you at half-time?The coach said that we need to play in an organised manner and that we need to change quickly from attacking situations to defensive ones because they (Kolkata) were looking dangerous from those situations and also because we needed to keep the ball.Who do you think is the best player for the Dynamos? All of us have played really well and I think the Dynamos are just good as a team and we don’t have any player that’s better than the rest. I think our performance as a team is our main quality. Is there any player in the team who you look up to?I look up to a lot of players but I can’t think of any one name right now. What sort of strategy will the team use going into the next two games? We have just finished this game and tomorrow we will start preparing for the other games. We have to travel and we’re looking forward to it.What do you think about the Indian crowd? It’s good, it’s lovely, and everybody is so energetic. They’re cheering for everything and that’s a good experience when you’re on the field.
