Defender Salam Ranjan Singh played full 90 minutes on his Hero Indian Super League debut on Tuesday evening. He proved to be the lucky charm as NorthEast United FC registered their first win in seven matches after beating FC Pune City at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati in front of over 18,000 home fans. With the win fuelled by Romaric’s goal nine minutes from time, the Highlanders have put their semis hopes back on track as they have moved one place up to sixth in the standings with 14 points from 11 games. The 20-year-old centre-back spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the match and discussed the win.
