Thoughts on the match.

Actually, I’m not satisfied with the result. The boys gave it their all, whatever they could and at the end, this is football. So, we have to take this and hopefully we can do much better in the next match.

How happy are with your recent goalscoring performances?

We are in a situation where it doesn't matter which player scores. It is the three points which are the most important thing. That matters the most now.

Thoughts on the next match against Kerala Blasters FC.

Kerala Blasters FC is a good team. They have very good attacking players and as today’s match goes, we’ll rectify our mistakes and hopefully, we will do much better in the next match.

Are you confident that NorthEast United FC can qualify for the semi-finals?

Yes, I’m very confident. I trust my teammates. We are in this situation as a team and we will fight together till the last moment as a team.

From Pune’s end, Adil Khan, who scored a spectacular volley, shared his thoughts on the result. Here are the excerpts:

Thoughts on your goal.

I was looking for a goal for a long time now, I’ve missed so many chances in the previous matches. Even in the first half, I missed a header. I could have put it in the net but I didn’t get it but in the second half I scored a goal. I’m happy for my goal but the result didn’t go our way. Now if you see, even with the calculations we cannot make it to the semi-finals. I’m happy with the goal but not the result.

Can you tell us a bit about your celebration?

It’s for my girl. I think I’m going to get married in the next two months. So, it was for my girl and my family.

How did the opening goal affect the team?

Yeah, even in the previous matches we’ve conceded goals first but we know how to come back, that’s the attitude we talk about every time. We have a tremendous attitude in the team. We don’t let it go and we fight until the last whistle so that’s the plus point for us and we’ll continue doing it Inshallah.

Thoughts on the team's performance.

Really good. Everyone is working hard and doing their best to get into the semi-finals but it was tough for us because, at the beginning of the season, we didn’t do much. Had we won one or two matches, then it would have been a different story. (Cut the footage after this)

How do you take the two remaining matches?

We keep working hard the way we’re working now. I think I’m missing the next match because I’ve already received four yellow cards but my support will be there for my team from the stands. So, I hope they work hard and win those two matches.
