After a rocky start to Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18, ATK finally got a win on board in their previous encounter against Mumbai City FC. It was Robin Singh who got on the end of a Zequinha cross to score the winner, and the Indian striker is confident of doing well in the next match against his former side Delhi Dynamos FC at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Saturday. Robin spoke to indiansuperleague.com in an exclusive interview ahead of the match against Delhi. Here are the excerpts.

You scored the winner in the last game, confident heading into the next match?

Hundred percent, not just me, but the boys are confident about the next game. We want to keep the winning momentum going, and hopefully go into the new year with three points.

You picked up a knock last time around, so how are you coping with it?

It is feeling better, and hopefully I will be available for the next game, but I will leave it to the coaches to decide that.

You have Teddy Sheringham as a coach, and Robbie Keane up-front, so how influential are they for you as a striker?

They bring a lot of experience into the dressing room. It is an honour for me to play with them, and train with them. Hopefully in the coming days and weeks, we get more points on the board together as a team.

You have played under many coaches in your career, but if you had to pick one, who would that be?

I have learnt big things from all the coaches that I have played under, but as much as I can, I want to learn more, and this season is no different. I want to learn as much as I can with Teddy Sheringham.

You will be playing your former side tomorrow, so thoughts on that?

I am an ATK boy right now, so I want to make sure that I do everything in my power to help them win.

This is not your first Kolkata team. What’s it like to play in this football crazy city?

Kolkata is a home away from home for me, and I love playing here. I have great memories… at the Salt Lake Stadium as well, but now I just want to carry it forward to ATK and make sure I do whatever I can to score.

Is there any meaning behind your tattoos?

All of them have a meaning behind them, but to get into them, we will definitely need another session like this.

Your favourite thing to do in your downtime?

I like to recover for the next session to begin with. After the recovery, I like to chill by the pool for a bit with some music. Once I am done with that, I get back to my room to rest or play on the PlayStation. I have been known to be on it for 12 hours as well.

Would you rather binge-watch a television show, or play PlayStation?

If it is not ‘Call of Duty’, or any other first-person shooting game that I like, I would binge-watch a show.
