Delhi Dynamos FC’s return to Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2018-19 action after a week-long international break turned out to be an unhappy one as the Lions lost at home to a well-drilled ATK side on Wednesday. Next up for Josep Gombau’s side is a daunting visit to the home of Kerala Blasters FC on Saturday.

Ahead of the game, indiansuperleague.com caught up with the Lions’ influential midfielder Rene Mihelic, who felt that wins will follow if his side kept up their hard work. Here are excerpts from the exclusive interview:

Are there any plans of making changes in the side from the match against ATK?

I think we don’t need to change a lot. We need to keep playing like we played in the second half against ATK. We created many chances and I think, we’ll do better in our next game and we will take three points in Kerala.

How does it feel to play in the Hero ISL again?

I feel very good, I feel amazing. In every match, I feel good because a lot of people come to the games to watch the games. And yes, I’m really happy to be here for a second season and I hope that I will be here for more seasons in India.

Has there been a change in your playing style this season?

Yes, of course. It’s a little bit of change of playing style because, in Chennaiyin FC, it’s an English coach and here a Spanish coach. I think here in Delhi, we are more strong on the ball, but I don’t want to talk more about our tactics and how we play.

How has your experience been with head coach Josep Gombau?

I can say only good things because I like how he works on the training, how he works with us and how we play. I can say only amazing things for him.

Thoughts on your team’s form and upcoming matches.

I think we need to work hard and we are playing good. Especially in the second half against ATK we played very good and we need to keep playing like this. I think we will be better and better.
