Bengaluru FC travel to Mumbai in Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 on Thursday to take on Mumbai City FC at the Mumbai Football Arena. The Blues come off the back of a shock 2 – 0 setback to Delhi Dynamos FC and will look to get back to winning ways against the Islanders to reach the top of the points table. One of the mainstays in the visitor’s defence has been their versatile defender Rahul Bheke. The 27-year-old took time to catch with indiansuperleague.com and share his views prior to the encounter. Here are the excerpts.

How important has your versatility at the back being for Bengaluru?

Throughout the season I have played different positions in the backline. It’s been good enough for me. But I have to be prepared for whichever position my coach tells me to play in. So far, we have been doing good and I am happy with it.

What kind of a game are you expecting from Mumbai?

I am expecting a tough game tomorrow. It’s their home game. But they have lost their last game and even we have lost our last game. So, both of us have to win. It would be tough and physical.

You will be going up against Thiago Santos and Balwant Singh, both of whom are in form. What are your thoughts on that?

Each and every player for me is equal. I will be playing against every player the same way tomorrow and give my best to help my team win.

After the loss against Delhi, how do you plan to come back?

After the Delhi game, we have been through our training and rectified our mistakes. So, we will try not to repeat those mistakes in tomorrow’s game, execute the plan we have gone through in training and go for the win.
