Delhi Dynamos FC lost their fifth game on the trot as ATK edged past with a 1-0 win at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Saturday. Robbie Keane’s strike was what separated the two teams at the end of 90 minutes, as the Dynamos’ defence was breached late in the game. The Lions captain of the night, Pritam Kotal was visibly disappointed with the result when indiansuperleague.com caught up with him after the match. Here are the excerpts from the interview with him.
What are your thoughts on the defeat?
It wasn’t good for us today. This wasn’t a good game for us and it is the fifth game we lost in a row. There is a bad patch going on, but we need to rectify our mistakes and do well in the next match.
How does it feel to lose five games in a row?
It is quite difficult, but we have to stay positive. A lot of matches coming up, so we have to stay positive and work hard every day in practice and improve ourselves.
How did it feel to play at Kolkata again?
I feel good, but I am not happy at the moment because we lost. Obviously, whenever I play in Kolkata, I am always enjoying, but today, unfortunately, we did not win. It is a part of the game but we need to bounce back.
Did it affect the team on not having head coach Miguel Angel Portugal near the dugout?
It affects us because his instructions on the field are very good. It has worked for us, but unfortunately, he wasn’t with us on the field today. So, it got quite difficult.
